For light that barely exists.
Ilford Delta 3200 is the fastest black and white film Ilford makes, and in 120 it is a genuinely unusual thing to have available. This is a single roll of medium format film designed for conditions where every other film has given up.
A note on the number: its true measured speed is closer to ISO 1000, and the 3200 in the name reflects how it is designed to be developed. Rate it at 1600 or 3200 and develop accordingly and it behaves exactly as intended.
The grain is large, obvious, and completely the point. Shadows go soft and open, highlights glow, and the whole image takes on the gritty, atmospheric quality people specifically seek out. Concerts, unlit interiors, night streets, and anything handheld in near darkness.
