The Gelatin Disposable Camera is a simple, reliable 35mm point-and-shoot loaded with fresh Kodak ISO 400 color negative film, built around the classic Fuji Quicksnap body.
It’s designed to remove friction. No settings, no learning curve. Just point, shoot, and keep moving.
ISO 400 is flexible in most everyday situations (daylight, travel, indoor scenes with flash). The built-in flash makes low light straightforward, and the back label area is there so you can write a name or note if it’s getting passed around.
After you finish the 27 exposures, mail the camera back to Gelatin Labs. If you purchased a service bundle, we’ll process the film with standard C-41 development and scan it as part of your package. Then we test and inspect the camera body for reloading so it can be reused again in the future.
- Development: Standard C-41 processing
- Exposures: 27
- Film Speed: ISO 400
- Body: Fuji Quicksnap
- Flash: Built-in (always-on switch)
Ordering FAQ
How does ordering work?
- Choose your package (camera only, or a service bundle).
- We ship the camera(s) to you.
- Shoot through all exposures.
- Camera Only: purchase develop + scan service on our site, then mail the camera(s) back to us with your order number clearly written on the outside of the package.
- Service Bundles: mail the camera(s) back with your original order number. We develop + scan (and print if selected), then deliver your scans digitally.
What’s included in “Camera + Develop + Scan”?
- The disposable camera (pre-loaded)
- C-41 development
- Hi-C GelForm “Casual JPEG” scans (delivered digitally)
Note: This package is scans-only. Negatives are not returned.
Is shipping included in the camera price?
No. Shipping is added at checkout for the initial shipment to you.
Flat outbound shipping to you: $9.99 per order
Do I pay for return shipping back to Gelatin?
Yes. Customers are responsible for shipping the camera(s) back to us once finished.
Do you offer a return label?
Yes. We offer a prepaid mailing label option that works well for a return package that weighs about 4–5 cameras:
What do I need to include when I mail the camera back?
Please write your order number clearly on the outside of the package so we can match it up quickly.
Do you return negatives?
- Camera + Develop + Scan: negatives are not returned.
- Print bundles: physical prints are shipped back to you, and negatives are included in that return.
There’s no separate “negative return” fee on Print bundles — it’s part of the package.
Can I request “no negatives” on a Print bundle to avoid return shipping?
Print bundles already include the cost of shipping the physical prints back, and negatives are included alongside the prints.
Can I order multiple cameras in one order?
Yes. You can order any quantity and any combination (Singles, 5-Packs, Party Packs, etc.) in a single order.
If I buy multiple cameras in one order, do I have to send them back together?
Yes — if they’re purchased in the same order, we ask that you send them back together once they’re all finished. If you want to send cameras back at different times, place separate orders.
Can I mail my disposable cameras back with other film (35mm / 120)?
Yes. You can send disposables back in the same package as other film as long as:
- You’ve placed the service order for the other rolls, and
- You include a clear note referencing which order number those additional rolls belong to.
What if I accidentally mail back cameras/film without a note or order number?
We can usually figure it out, but it slows things down. Writing the order number on the outside of the package is the single best way to avoid mix-ups.
Can I buy “Camera Only” and add develop/scan later?
Yes. If you buy camera-only, you’ll place a separate service order when you’re ready to process it, then mail the camera back with a note (and order number) so we can match it correctly.
When do I get my scans, and how are they delivered?
Your scans are delivered digitally (via your order). Turnaround depends on current lab volume and the services you select.
Can you develop anything other than C-41 from these cameras?
These disposables are intended for C-41 color negative processing.
Do you reuse the camera body?
Yes. Once returned, the camera body is inspected and tested so it can be reloaded and reused again in the future, reducing waste and extending its life.
Other Questions People Often Ask
Will I get my disposable camera back?
No. The camera body is part of a reuse loop. What you’re purchasing is the camera to shoot + your chosen processing/scans/prints.
Do I need to put anything on the camera itself?
Not required, but you can write a quick note on the back label area if you’re passing it around. The key identifier we need is your order number on the return package.
Can I return fewer than 27 shots?
You can mail it back whenever you’re done. We recommend finishing all 27 exposures, but it’s your call.
What’s the best way to ship multiple cameras back?
A small box is usually best. If you want a prepaid option, our mail label is sized well for about 4–5 cameras.
