Good under mixed indoor lighting and tungsten without a filter. Development and scanning are purchased separately.
Two stops of insurance.
Kodak Portra 800 in 35mm is the fast option when you want colour negative film that still treats people kindly. Rated at ISO 800, it opens up handheld shooting indoors, at dusk, and in venues where flash is not welcome.
The colour stays recognisably Portra. Skin is natural, contrast is restrained, and highlights hold rather than clipping. Grain is more present than Portra 400, which is the honest cost of the speed, and it reads as film texture rather than digital noise.
It is also unusually good under mixed indoor lighting, holding colour together in rooms where other daylight films go strange. Load it for receptions, restaurants, concerts, and winter afternoons. It pushes to 1600 without much complaint.
