Seventy years of evidence.
Kodak Tri-X 400 in 35mm is the black and white film most of the photographs you remember were shot on. It has been in production since the 1950s, and it is still here because nothing else looks quite like it.
At ISO 400 it gives you crisp, clearly defined grain, punchy contrast, and blacks that actually go black. It is less forgiving than HP5 Plus and more characterful for it. Meter it with some care and it rewards you with frames that have real presence.
Pushing is where it becomes iconic. Tri-X at 1600 is a look people deliberately chase, not a rescue. Load it for street photography, reportage, gigs, and late nights. Send the roll to us and we will develop and scan it in house.
