Less forgiving than Portra and less flattering to skin. Meter carefully. Development and scanning are purchased separately.
Grain you will struggle to find.
Kodak Ektar 100 in 35mm is the film to load when you want colour negative results that look closer to medium format than 35mm has any right to. Rated at ISO 100, it holds the title of finest grained colour negative film in production.
The look is bold. Saturation runs high, blues and greens are emphatic, and contrast is stronger than the Portra family. It was designed for landscape and nature photography and it shows, rendering skies, water, and foliage with real punch.
The tradeoffs are honest ones. At ISO 100 it needs proper light, it is less forgiving of exposure error than a 400 speed film, and it can render skin warmer than you want for portraiture. For everything else in good light, it is spectacular.
