Slide film has little exposure latitude. Meter carefully and protect your highlights. Development and scanning are purchased separately.
The original projector film, still in production.
Kodak Ektachrome E100 gives you a positive image on the film itself rather than a negative. Hold a developed frame to the light and the photograph is simply there, which is why slide film held onto its following long after colour negative took over.
Rated at ISO 100, it delivers extremely fine grain, high sharpness, and colour that stays clean and neutral. It does not warm skin the way Portra does or saturate landscapes the way Ektar does. What you metered is close to what you get.
That honesty is also the challenge. Latitude is narrow, so a stop of overexposure loses a highlight permanently. Meter for the bright areas and commit. It runs in E-6 chemistry, not C-41, and we process E-6 in house.
